Nigerian Drug Suspect Arrested In Thailand After Leading Police In A Wild Hot Chase (Photos)

(Photo: Matichon) A Nigerian drug suspect identified as 45-year-old Chinedu Victor Okeke did a runner after being tracked down by Samui Police in Thailand on Sunday, August 5. According to Thai Residents , Policemen and Soldiers had to chase down Chinedu, who jumped out of a window of his rented house, climbed over the fence and dashed into a temple where he was finally pinned down. Tourist and Immigration police together with some soldiers had headed to a rented house in Bophut, after the Koh Samui district chief suspected the foreign tenant was selling drugs on the tourist island.

Belgium’s Witsel ‘on cusp’ of Borussia Dortmund move from China

Witsel Belgian international midfielder Axel Witsel is “on the cusp” of joining Borussia Dortmund on a four-year deal, the Bundesliga club announced on Monday. The 29-year-old has been playing for Chinese side Tianjin Quanjian since January 2017, but his strong performances in Belgium’s run to the World Cup semi-finals have paved the way for a return to Europe. “Borussia Dortmund are on the cusp of signing the Belgium national player Axel Witsel,” the German giants said.

I am not leaving PDP for APC and have not resigned – Akwa Ibom deputy governor

Akwa Ibom Deputy Governor, Mr Moses Ekpo said he has not resigned his position and is not leaving the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress. Ekpo His Chief Press Secretary, Mr Ekikere Umoh,  debunked the resignation story, triggered on Sunday by a post by @APCNigeria on Twitter on Sunday,  that said he would also be leaving the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress, along with Senator Godswill Akpabio, a former governor and ally. Umoh, said that there was no iota of truth in the story. He said that the deputy governor had travelled on official assignment to represent the Gov. Udom Emmanuel at Ati Annang Convention holding in New York. The meeting started around 2p.m when the duo arrived the Acting President’s office. Recall that Senator Enang had led the Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio to the Vice President last week where discussions on Akpabio’s planned defection from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressives Congress was concluded.
