Bloody Clash Leaves 5 Dead in Auchi Poly as Black Axe and Viking Cult Members Renew Rivalry

A deadly cult war has left about five students dead during a battle for supremacy at the Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State.

At least, five persons were left dead after a bloody cult war between Black Axe and Viking cult members ensued shortly after the completion of the examinations for the 2016 session in the institution last Thursday.
The incident happened at the Auchi Polytechnic, in Etsako-West Local Government of Edo State. According to reports, the victims were killed in different locations during the violent clash between the Black Axe and Viking confraternity.
 
Two victims where shot dead behind the School of Engineering of the polytechnic and around Sabo area, respectively, while one of the victims was said to have been killed in front of a construction company on the Benin-Auchi-Okene expressway.
 
It was gathered that a disagreement had ensued last Friday between the two groups at the graduation party of an unnamed student.
 
‎When contacted on Sunday, the Commissioner of Police, Haliru Gwandu, confirmed the death of two persons during the clashes between the rival cult groups.
 
Gwandu, however, disclosed that kingpins from the groups had been arrested and were assisting the police with useful information in their investigation.
